CofFEE Job Guarantee Report - alternative source

For those struggling to get the CofEE Job Guarantee report out of Australia (it is a largish document), I've created a Google view of it.

The usual questions about how JG can work are answered in the document. Please read it first - you may be pleasantly surprised to find that other people have the same concerns you do.

I like the first line of the section entitled “The JG Guarantee” (section 13.2). This claims “The JG proposal was conceived independently by Mitchell (1998) and Mosler (1997-98)”.

Sorry but the basic idea of having government act as employer of last resort was first implemented, far as I know, by Pericles in Ancient Athens around 2,500 years ago.

Hi Neil,
Couldn't find an email address to contact you, so apologies for public nature of request. I have been in touch with Steve Keen and offered to help him with getting data from the ONS. I am an academic myself (cognitive neuroscience, not economics) and know from experience that academics are always low on people to help with the 'donkey work' so offered my services. I see that he has just written an article based on the data that you extracted from the ONS (good work by the way - and I have quoted your analysis on various blogs). Given your interests and abilities I thought it worth contacting you as well. I expect that you are very busy so I don't want to load you down with extra work either. However, if you have any useful pointers on how to approach the ONS website, I would appreciate it.
What Steve wants are reliable url's to pull the data out of the ONS quickly. I have just dipped into the ONS site myself and I can see why this is problematic.
The data he is interested in is
Nominal GDP
CPI
Unemployment and employment
Debt by sector: government, non-financial business, finance sector, household (with this broken down into mortgage and non-mortgage/personal if possible)
House Price index
mortgage debt as distinct from total household debt.
Thanks
