There's no such thing as 'the market'.

They're casting their problem on 'the market'. And, you know, there is no such thing as 'the market'. There are individual businessmen and businesswomen, and there are companies.

It's a similar fallacy to the one common at election time, when pundits say the "people decided to (do some thing) when in fact individiuals have made decisions for their own reasons.

Simon Hoggart recognised that she was not so much a conviction politician as simply deranged. Maybe George is a bit fruity too.
